by Dr. Silvia Memendez:
Medical ozone therapy and oxygen therapies are natural alternatives. They can be used to kill different micro-organisms, such as virus, bacteria and fungi, as well as to increase delivery of oxygen to hypoxic tissue, among other effects. Oxygen therapies have many therapeutic uses with effective benefits for every part of the body. Oxygen (O2), along with foods, is the primary nutrient that cells use to generate energy for all its functions. This energy is produced through oxidation of the healthy cells.
Medical ozone therapy is recognized by most as the most powerful versatile therapy known in alternative health because it plays a vital role in maintaining our well-being, producing a generalized metabolic improvement with enhancement of the antioxidant defense system. It is also important to point out that ozone therapy is very practical and inexpensive therapy, without side effects and quite beneficial in treating disease.
There are many parenteral and topical routes used to administer ozone without toxic effects and minimal discomfort, avoiding always the inhalation route, as an example: Major and Minor Autohemotherapy, Rectal Insufflation, Intramuscular, Subcutaneous, Intraperitoneal, Intra-Articular, Intradiscal, Vaginal, Local, Ozone Sauna (excluding the head and neck to avoid pulmonary toxicity), etc., are commonly used. Also, you can use ozonized water and ozonized vegetable oils. These ozonized water and oils have been widely employed in bacterial, fungal, viral and parasitic infections.
Published papers describing the benefits of Ozone therapy now number in the thousands. One relatively recent paper describes how Ozone selectively inhibits the growth of human cancer cells. Note the use of the word "selectively" meaning "without harming healthy cells". Another recent paper reports that "Ozone was found to inactivate the AIDS / HIV virus".
Dr. Michael Carpendale et al, working on the AIDS virus found that they could produce an enormous inactivation of the virus, reducing it from a million virions down to no viruses at all at about 4 micrograms of ozone, with twice that dose having no adverse effect on healthy white blood cells.
Sixty patients with osteoarthritis at the Medical Surgical Research Center in Havana (mostly affecting the knee) were given one intra-articular injection of ozone per week for a total of ten weeks. Of the sixty patients, only four experienced the return of painful symptoms after two months, while the majority (93.3%) were symptom free.
Otto Warburg is the only man in history to win the Nobel Prize for Medicine twice. His research on cancer for which he was awarded the prize led him to the conclusion that "Cancer has only one prime cause. It is the replacement of normal oxygen respiration of the body's cells by an anaerobic (i.e. oxygen-deficient) cell respiration".
Ozone therapy itself is subdivided into a number of different methods, some of which can be self-administered with an Oxygen cylinder and a medical Ozone generator. These methods include ozonating water, vaginal/bladder insufflation, ear insufflation and rectal insufflation, among others.
Medical doctors tend to favour auto-haemotherapy where blood is taken from the body, mixed with ozone and then returned to the body. One more advanced method for using ozone is that named by Dr. Velio Bocci, the extracorporeal blood circulation versus O2-O3, which is similar to auto-haemotherapy, but with this method the blood is continuously ozonized and fed back to the patient, rather like dialysis. Another method is known as Transdermal Ozone therapy. This is a method in which Ozone is introduced into the body via the skin while sitting in a hot steam cabinet (excluding the head and neck to avoid pulmonary toxicity). As the pores of the skin open as result of being surrounded by the warm steam, Ozone enters the body transdermally (i.e. via the skin). This method is not new: Dr. Kellogg first used ozone in steam saunas at his naturopathic clinic in Battle Creek, Michigan as far back as 1881. The transdermal method has a number of advantages as follows:
1) It treats the whole body simultaneously.
2) The steam sauna has its own de-toxifying effects in addition to the de-toxification induced by Ozone.
3) Transdermal Ozone cleanses the lymph. 90% of body fluids are stored in the lymph, which is superficial, lying just under the skin, only moving around the body once every 24 hours. Transdermal Ozone will cleanse and de-toxify this often sluggish system.
4) This method does not involve injections or needles, does not need the administration of a medical doctor, tends to be cheaper for the clients than methods that only a doctor may use legally, and is both profoundly relaxing and enjoyable for the client.
Transdermal/hyperthermic Ozone therapy has been proven to have a powerful oxygenating effect on the body. The paper, 'Quasi-total body exposure to Oxygen/Ozone in a Sauna Cabinet' (1999), concluded that hyperthermic ozone induced a "statistically significant, rapid increase of venous pO2 (partial pressure of Oxygen)". It further concluded that TBARS (another measurement of Oxygenation of the blood) "increase steadily".
Ozone therapy is also extremely valid in vascular ischaemic diseases and for healing chronic wounds, bed sores, chronic ulcers (diabetic foot), burn injuries, intractable fistulae, to improve visual acuity in patients with age-related macular degeneration, and for an array of skin, mouth, vaginal and rectal infections. Ozone is a real "wonder" drug and is even more wonderful because it's free of adverse effects and is actually capable of generating a feeling of wellness and euphoria.
Today we have clearly ascertained that ozone therapy rapidly dissolves in the water of plasma and biological fluids, immediately reacts with biomolecules and generates crucial messengers then disappears. The Ozone-reactive ozone species (ROS)-lipid peroxidation signalling cascade is not yet definitive and some aspects have to be elucidated but it is clear that ozone therapy has emerged as the one that is well explainable with classical biochemical, physiological and pharmacological knowledge.
Cancer - This is an oxygen therapy that requires a medical professional to administer, usually an N.D., depending on what state you live in. A pint or so of your blood is extracted into an infusion bottle. Ozone is applied to the blood and the ozone kills the cancer cells. Then the blood is put back into your body, carrying some extra oxygen molecules with it.
Your comments and suggestions are well received.
